You are home alone on Purim, as usual, because you are elderly or physically challenged and have absolutely no family. You are, however, connected to Yad Sarah's Emergency Alarm Response System, so if anything goes wrong or you have a question help is there for you. Nevertheless, you are alone, totally alone on Purim.

Suddenly the phone rings. "Hello. How are you? I'm your Yad Sarah Emergency Alarm operator and I'll be there in a few minutes to bring you a mishloach manot and visit a bit." A Purim miracle. Someone coming to visit!

These happy Purim visits to isolated subscribers without family were initiated by the emergency alarm operators themselves.  A special thank you to Natalie, one of Yad Sarah's devoted operators who coordinated the entire project.

All of the isolated subscribers were overjoyed to meet the operators whose voices were so familiar to them.  Many were moved to tears and said, "Only Yad Sarah remembers me!"

The Emergency Alarm Response System is staffed 24/7 including all holidays and festivals. Throughout Israel there are 18,500 subscribers who make over 110,000 calls per year.
